Overview
The lined seedeater (Sporophila lineola) is a species of bird in the family Thraupidae, the tanagers and allies. It is found in every mainland South American country except Uruguay, though it has occurred in Chile and on Trinidad as a vagrant.

Range and habitat
Breeds in northeastern Brazil, migrating to Venezuela, the Guianas, and northeastern Amazonian Brazil; also breeds from southern Bolivia to southern Brazil, southward to Paraguay and northern Argentina; migrating to Amazonia; seasonal status (migrant or resident) in some regions not clear.
