Overview
The pygmy sunbird (Hedydipna platura) is a species of bird in the family Nectariniidae.
It is found in Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ivory Coast, Ethiopia, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Kenya, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Sudan, Togo, and Uganda.

Range and habitat
Mauritania and Senegal eastward to Sudan, South Sudan, and perhaps locally in western Ethiopia, southward to northern Ivory Coast, northern Nigeria, northern Central African Republic, northeastern Democratic Republic of the Congo, and northern Uganda; resident in northern part of range, only a breeding visitor to southern portions of range.
