Overview
The cloven-feathered dove (Ptilinopus holosericeus) is a species of bird in the family Columbidae. The cloven-feathered dove is endemic to New Caledonia where it is found in forest and Melaleuca savanna at altitudes up to 1,000 m (3,300 ft). This species was formerly placed in the monotypic genus Drepanoptila, but has since been moved to Ptilinopus (fruit doves).
It is considered near-threatened by the IUCN due to habitat degradation and hunting.
