Overview
The large-billed seed finch (Sporophila crassirostris) is a species of bird in the family Thraupidae, the tanagers and allies. It is found in Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guyana, Peru, Suriname, and Venezuela. It formerly occurred in Trinidad and Tobago but its current status there is uncertain. The species was also confirmed in Panama in 2011.
